My mission as a chef instructor is to teach you and your family that cooking at home can be simple and rewarding. Learning to cook and work with whole foods is healthy for your mind and your body, as you bring together family and friends to create and share memorable meals together.
I want to empower home cooks to have confidence in the kitchen and enjoy cooking and eating homemade wholesome meals with their family and friends. I believe that cooking is a life-skill that is crucial to personal health and the health of our environment. I always encourage shopping for organic, locally sourced produce and products whenever possible. I support cooking in season by shopping at Farmer’s Markets or belonging to a CSA. That said, I do not believe you have to cook like a restaurant chef, or prepare complicated restaurant style meals in your kitchen. I do believe that you can make great food with some basic skills, a little planning, and a sprinkle of love. By learning basic techniques and working with different ingredients, my intention is to give you the knowledge so that you can cook with confidence and improvise with your own taste and style.
Some popular classes are learning to make healthy and hearty soups, making healthy fresh homemade baby food, teaching your college-bound senior the basics of eating healthy at college. I often find that learning to cook seasonal meals from what is available at the Farmer's Market is a valuable and fun lesson.
Please contact me about your interest in learning to cook and we can discuss your particular needs.
